CEO, Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Pamela Shattuck Nelson, owner of Quality Hearing and Audiology, is a licensed audiologist specializing in adult hearing loss. She offers comprehensive diagnostic services and treatment options. Dr. Nelson values clear, direct communication and enjoys building personal connections with her patients. Growing up on a South Dakota farm, she witnessed the effects of noise-induced hearing loss firsthand and takes pride in helping local agricultural communities overcome these challenges. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see patients improve their relationships and quality of life as their hearing improves.

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Emily Graves is a licensed and certified audiologist who specializes in evaluating patients of all ages with hearing and balance disorders. She offers comprehensive diagnostic services, and a wide range of treatment options tailored to each individual’s needs. Passionate about serving rural and underserved communities, she is dedicated to making high-quality hearing care accessible to everyone, regardless of location. Dr. Graves is committed to improving patient communication and overall quality of life through evidence-based audiology practices. She values building meaningful, communicative, and trusting relationships with her patients — a foundation she believes is essential to successful outcomes.

Audiology Assistant

Heathor is the Audiology Assistant and Billing Specialist for Quality Hearing & Audiology Center. She assists Dr. Nelson with cleaning and checking hearing aids. She works with insurance and billing of all services. Heathor truly loves being able to help people in their path to hearing better. Heathor has been part of the Amazonia community her entire life. In her spare time, Heathor enjoys volunteering for the City of Amazonia as the city clerk. She likes to spend time with her large family and raising her two children. She is also a movie buff and she loves watching true crime investigations.

Patient Care Coordinator

Andrea Moravec is the Patient Care Coordinator for Quality Hearing & Audiology Center. She assists Dr. Nelson and Heathor with scheduling patients for hearing tests and cleanings. She works with insurance and billing of all services. Andrea really loves her office administrative role and being able to help people in their path to hearing better. Andrea has lived in the St. Joseph area for about 10 years. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys going out with friends and trying new food. She likes to spend time outdoors in the garden or on walking trails. She also loves watching movies or reading a good book. She is extremely organized and if you need an Excel spreadsheet, she will quickly create one for you!

My experience went great! Dr. Nelson was so good to me. She was very clear in every way. She smiled the whole time and made me feel comfortable. She walked me through everything that was going on to make sure that I understood. I have no complaints. I would definitely see her again and recommend her. She truly cares and is good at what she does.

The folks there are super-nice, and were really willing to work with me to get me into a pair of great hearing aids. They do the testing to make sure the aids gave me back the sounds I was missing without blasting me with what I could already hear. The aids even Bluetooth to my phone for calls and music. What an improvement over what hearing aids used to be like!
